User Friendly Linux for VERY old notebook?

I have an old Dell™ Latitude™ CP notebook computer with an Intel Pentium microprocessor at 23 MHz and 96MB RAM. I am looking for a stable Linux distro with an easy to use graphical UI. It will be used by my little sister for mainly basic word processing, and light image viewing, and maybe music and small games. It will never be able to be connected to the internet. Do you have any advice of what distribution of Linux I should get for this?
The User interface NEEDS to be easy for an unexperienced Windoes user. DSL is great (I’ve tried it), but it isn’t for novices.

Is there any Linux distribution that requires more than 256 MB of RAM out?

I’m thinking about purchasing a notebook from DELL and their entry-level (read cheapest) model comes with 256 MB of RAM. I’d like to stay current by using the latest stuff such as CentOS 5 or Fedora 7. Am I good to go or should I get one with at least 512 MB of RAM? Thanks!

What’s The Best Linux Distro For My Dell Laptop?

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 with an Intel Celeron 2.4 Ghz, 384 MB of RAM, and a 28 GB hard drive. I’m interested in dumping winXP and running a linux distro, but it has to be able to run a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, run a DVD / CDR, handled the native audio, and hopefully handle power management and wireless PCMCI cards, too.

Not asking for much, eh? Well, I should also be able to put the same Distro on my Dell XPS 400 desktop, and have them communicate with one another wirelessly.

Thanks for everyone’s experience and expertise.
