This is getting to be a very expensive prank war between these two roommates.

My roommates computer is on the fritz and he needs some files off of it. Can I just buy a crossover cable and hook them up with the USB ports? Is there a way to just turn one into a slave terminal?

I just moved to a new country and my Dell laptop won’t play my dvd. Any general info on dvd region codes would be super helpful, since I know absolutely nothing! Also, I heard something about losing your warranty if you use a decoder, but is that for the whole computer or just the dvd player? Thanks so much.
