What’s the deal with DVD regions and the penalties associated with using a decoder?
I just moved to a new country and my Dell laptop won’t play my dvd. Any general info on dvd region codes would be super helpful, since I know absolutely nothing! Also, I heard something about losing your warranty if you use a decoder, but is that for the whole computer or just the dvd player? Thanks so much.

how do I reset my dvd player on my laptop?
I have an Averatec 3200 series laptop. The CDRW works fine, but will not recognize DVD’s. I bought it second hand and there is no warranty. I think I just need to update the firmware, but can’t find any site that supports this. What can I do besides replace the drive (which with laptops is a pain) or get an external drive?

How do use iBook G4 to play DVDs and watch it on a tv?
I have a iBook G4…cos it only has a 14″ screen, i only use it to watch DVDs when i m alone…when friends come over, how can i use it as a DVD player n connect it to the TV? Thanks!!!
