Which is the faster processor?
I’m looking to buy a new notebook and needed to know which is the faster processor. Intel? Or AMD? I was convinced that I wanted a HP 3.4 GHZ Intel p4 processor, but then I heard that the new Intel’s get so physically hot, that you have to prop it up onto something. Is this true? And if so, is AMD the way to go? Thank you.

AMD is the way to go since they have as good or better performance at typically cheaper prices.

AMD is far superior to Intel. In laptop land you will want to look for a AMD Athlon 64 3200+, 3500+ or 4000+ and if you can get the 4000+ you will be one very lucky, person. I wanted the laptop with a 4000+ processor in it and they ran out of stock before I could get over to Best Buy so I guess I’ll have to make do with my 3000+.
If you’re looking for benchmarks, see the link below. Notice all the processors at the top are AMD.
