Mi iBook G4 is overheating lately and the battery stopped charging, any idea whats going on?
The overheating is located in the oposite side of the battery (my left hand)
And the battery icon is always in 0% eventhough is connected to an alectrical outlet. If I disconnect it, the compuer dies.
Please help!!

you need a new battery.
I would try removing the battery and see if it still overheats. Laptop batteries are known for pooping out after a while. If you still get the overheating with the battery out, give Apple’s tech support a call. You might also check the web to see if it was a recalled model. You might be entitled to a free replacement, if it is a recalled model.
my son’s laptop was overheating and then it would just shut down. Turns out, it was the internal fan. Dell replaced it and it has been fine since.
Its telling yo uto get a PC.
The problem with your laptop is the CPU fan. what happens here, is when you dont clean it at least onece a year, the fan will get clogged up with dust and the internal fan will stop diverting heat to the CPU. This will result in a burning smell and you have 30 seconds to turn it off before it melts and catches fire. The battery can be salvaged, however. What you may want to do is get the battery replaced and check the internal components of the laptop withoud disturbing the fragilites of it. This will resolve the problem
two things that can cause this
1. dead battery as suggested above
2. dead power circuit. if you have a spare battery you can try, please do so. (you can use a friends battery too if they are the same model) if the spare battery still does not work, then your power circuit is a goner.
good luck with it!
