Computer illiterate and need help!!!?
I have an Apple IBook G4……I don’t know if I need a special program to get a video off a DVD+R onto my computer so that I can e-mail it to my family. Every time I insert the cd into the cd opening (guess that’s what it’s called?) my DVD player program just starts playing it. But I want it permanently on my computer like my pictures. How do I do this? Let me know if you need any other info. in order to help me out!!! Thanks!!!
The movie is a 13 minute ultrasound video!

yes, you do need a special program. being a PC user myself, i wouldn’t know what program works with a Mac.
So you want to email a movie? That will take a long time to upload and download. They wont allow a 5 gig file to be uploaded. I dont even think the file host sites will, and if they do, are you willing to wait 3 days for it to upload.
After the CD starts, stop it leaving the disc in, then go to my computer and browse to your dvd drive and open it, you should see the video and be able to copy it to your hard-drive. Some dvd players also have a “rip” option somewhere in their menus.
good luck
You need to open the disk instead of “playing” it. In windows you’d do it with a right-click on explorer. Not sure how this works in the Apple world.
sorry, I don’t know much about Apple, I know a lot about Microsoft windows…can’t help…I have to pass it….good luck.
What you need to do this is the OS (operating system) windows xp media center. This OS can do all that and more, here is the page for media center. I know this, because i have an hp pavilion a1253w 17″ flat panle with windows xp media center on it. the website is:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/default.mspx
You can even watch tv on it, and what not!, it is a great deal!
