You can buy it full priced. I don’t know of any coupon things for Dell skins.

If you try chatting with them, they might be able to help you out. But, did you get the free backpack?I bought a laptop also in July, and they have a July promotion that they will send you a backpack if you buy a notebook in July. I didn’t get the backpack when I ordered my notebook, but I did the chat and it worked fine. Many people on forums have said that they had no problem getting their backpack plus the shipping for free. *rate this the best i’m getting you a backpack!!!*

    Here’s what you do:

Go to Dell Support Chat and offer to trade your free skin for the backpack OR tell them something like this:

    Script:
“I received July’s catalog and it said that July orders placed for notebooks get a free Swiss Gear backpack. I ordered an E1505 in order #xxxxxxxxxx but I didn’t know that I had to add the backpack to my order to get it free. I thought it was automatically included in the July promotion.

You go to http://www.Dell.com/july & then add the e1505 notebook to the cart. You have to add the red backpack before you get to the cart. It is on the accessories page. When you finally get to the cart after you have added it, it says “Free Swiss Gear Maxxum with Dell Inspiron-Fits up to 15.4 Inches” — Just like the July catalog says- it is free when you order the laptop in the month of July. The backpack is not automatically added when you order an E1405, E1505, OR E1705, nor does Dell’s web site tell you about the promotion when you are ordering. Because I didn’t add it to my order, I didn’t get it for free as advertised in the catalog.”

They will not issue a coupon or send you a backpack unless they see that this is actually a real July promotion. It benefits you to know that this promotion is not advertised on their web site as a promotion. You may have ordered a laptop without taking advantage of this promotion!

Here is a link to the backpack: LINK
Some representatives will give you a $25 off coupon for the backpack. Some representatives will give you a $35 or $50 off coupon for the backpack. It is marked down to $39.96. So even if they don’t give you the backpack free, you stand to get a pretty good deal on this backpack with free shipping!

    HERE IS THE PROMOTION:
Get a free Swiss Gear Notebook Backpack with any of the following Dell notebook e-value codes

    B130
    6F910-D80705R
    6F910-D80707R

    E1405 (Red backpack)
    6F910-D80708S
    6F910-D80711T
    6F910-D80713R

    E1505 (red backpack)
    6F910-D80708R
    6F910-D80711S
    6F910-D80714R

    E1705 (blue backpack)
    6F910-D80711R
    6F910-D80714S
    6F910-D80718R

    Notebook backpack is regularly $49

When you click on http://www.Dell.com/july, and click on any of the E1405, E1505, & E1705 notebooks, they are included in the promotion with the free backpack even though there is no advertisement that a backpack will be included. Note that you have to add the backpack to the cart in order to get it free. It is not automatically included, and it only shows up as being free when you are finally at the cart.

Don’t know if this helps, but Dell will be giving away 12 notebook computers each day from July 27 until August 31 .

The giveaway is part of Dell’s skin-design contest and back-to-school campaign. Skins, personalized laptop covers, have become all the rage among many laptop owners. Capitalizing on the trend, Dell has begun to offer skins for purchase in lieu of owners making homemade laptop modifications.

To enter Dell’s contest, people must register at the Dell contest Web site between July 27 and August 20, choose a notebook, and create a skin to go with it. No purchase of a laptop in necessary to enter the contest. Daily notebook winners will be chosen instantly and at random. Winners have the option of adding a college logo or other design skin to their notebook as part of the prize. People are permitted to enter the instant-win game once per day.
